As the year winds down and December approaches, many people try to get into the office as they know their insurance deductible has been met or their insurance is changing next year and they want to take advantage of their benefits before they end.
\nMost insurance plans do not have any hearing aid benefits. Medicare has no coverage for hearing devices and if you have a Medicare Supplemental plan, that covers nothing as well, since it adheres to Medicare guidelines. Some secondary insurance plans have hearing aid benefits, as well as certain Medicare Advantage plans.
\nThe trick is to know whether you actually have a benefit for hearing aids; that is, having money from insurance being paid toward hearing devices, or whether the insurance company has a contract with a third party to allow patients to get aids at a discounted price.
\nIn either case, we are contracted to handle almost all insurance packages. In some instances, we can even offer a better deal.
\nSo, if you are thinking of checking out your coverage, please let us know and we will be happy to call on your behalf. We\u2019ll let you know what your options are to help you make the best decision for you.
\nHappy Holidays.
